UPDATE: Target Reached! Skerries Harps have joined the Community Heart Program

***UPDATE****

We've reached our target. Many thanks to all who contributed to our fundraiser to replace our current defibrillator. Through your very generous donations, we have

now achieved the required funding. We will hopefully have the new defibrillator in place in the coming weeks and when restrictions allow we will arrange to put in place a full CPR and defibrillator training course.

Skerries Harps have joined the Community Heart programme to support raising €2150 to fund a replacement defibrillator. Defibrillators can save lives from sudden cardiac arrest, by making a donation here we can fund a community defibrillator.

Sudden cardiac arrest is a major cause of death in Ireland, but the application of an electric shock by an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) can save lives. Defibrillation is most likely to succeed if the person is shocked within the first three minutes after collapse, after which the success rate reduces by 7 – 10% per minute.

The safety of our community is one of our main priorities, which is why we have joined the GAA's Community Heart Program and created a fundraising page to acquire our very own on-site AED.

To do this, we need your help to reach our goal of €2150. Every euro we raise will help us get closer to acquiring an AED.

What's an AED?

An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is a medical device that can help save the life of a person experiencing cardiac arrest by delivering an electric shock to re-establish the normal heart rhythm.

Thanks for helping us make every second count in an emergency.
